O uso da memória implícita revela-se quando o desempenho numa tarefa é facilitado mesmo na
ausência de recordação consciente da experiência prévia (Graf & Schacter, 1985). Grande parte da
investigação sobre a recuperação não consciente baseou-se na utilização de tarefas de memória
implícita que têm vindo igualmente a ser utilizadas no estudo da produção não consciente de memórias
falsas no paradigma DRM (Deese, 1959; Roediger & McDermott, 1995). Este procedimento
experimental consiste na apresentação de listas de palavras associadas a uma palavra-chave não
apresentada, designada de item crítico, seguida de tarefas de evocação e/ou reconhecimento.
O presente estudo debruça-se sobre a construção de normas de completamento de 223 radicais de
palavras portuguesas, elaboradas a partir de listas de associados criadas de raiz para o contexto
português (Albuquerque, 2005). O material aqui apresentado poderá ser usado em vários estudos,
nomeadamente os que envolvam tarefas de memória implícita de completamento de palavras.

A wide number of research studies on unconscious retrieval are based on implicit memory tasks. This approach is also used on the study of unconscious production of false memories in DRM paradigm (Deese, 1959; Roediger & McDermott, 1995). This experimental procedure consists on the presentation of associated word lists to a key word not presented, called critical item, followed by recall and/or recognition tasks. The main goal of the present study is to obtain Portuguese norms for the completion of 223 word stems, elaborated from lists of semantic associates created specifically for the Portuguese context (Albuquerque, 2005). The material here presented can be used in several studies mainly ones with implicit memory tasks of stem completion.
