Abstract(s)
e contextualizada destes eventos.
Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) foi realizada uma
ABSTRACT: : Adverse events in psychotherapy are common but still little studied. Research faces a number of conceptual and methodological difficulties, but it is essential for clinical practice to have a comprehensive and contextualized view of these events. Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the occurrence of adverse events in psychotherapy and analyse their prevalence, identifying the most common adverse events in psychotherapy and their relationship with the therapeutic alliance. Method: Using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) systematic review methodology, a search was carried out in the Web of Science and EBSCO databases which resulted in 13 articles after applying the eligibility criteria, including both quantitative and qualitative studies. Results: Adverse events were reported in between 15% and 100% of participants, suffering variations between the different studies, not only due to definitions, but also due to the methodologies and instruments used to assess them. Conclusions: The results of this study reinforce the idea of the importance of monitoring the therapeutic alliance and the negative effects experienced during psychotherapy. Identifying and understanding adverse effects in psychotherapy is fundamental not only for recognizing the power of action of clients but also of therapists.
