Abstract(s)
The technological revolution and the rise of the internet have brought significant changes in the human behavior. The Internet is everywhere and has become part of people's lives. It divided the history of human communication between before and after the internet. Before the face-to-face meetings and now the online video conference calls. Is video conference communication the same as face-to-face communication? Objective: The study explores possible differences in terms of verbal and non-verbal communication, namely eye contact in these two contexts. Method: The sample consisted of 17 university students from ISPA Psychology students, and one non-ISPA student volunteer. Sixteen women and two men aged 18 to 52 years participated in the study. A laboratory was set up to record and film the conversations between the doubles. The analysis of the data was through the program (The Observer XT 7.0, Noldus). The Statistical Package for Social Science software was used for data processing. (SPSS / PASW). The results suggest that the online context is busier with more breakage of eye contact and especially an excess movement of looking at the image itself.
