professores portugueses (N=536).
ABSTRACT: The General Self-Efficacy Scale (Schwarzer & Jerusalem, 1995) is a self-report that measure a more general sense of efficacy, contained 10 items that are organized in a unidimensional structure. The aim of this study was the adaptation and validation of GSE in a sample of Portuguese teachers (N=536). The GSE showed adequate psychometric properties, where the results from confirmatory factor analysis and internal consistency support the unidimensional nature of the scale. Measurement invariance (configural, metric and scalar) showed the factorial equivalence of GSE between the Portuguese and German samples.
