Abstract(s)
The present pandemic reality and context have made painfully clear the key-role that psychologists and psychotherapists are going to have in the next decades. Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-oriented approach that has generated interest in research and therapeutic practice. The impact of these approaches in clients has been amply studied, yet there’s a gap in literature that needs research: the impact of approaches on psychologists and psychotherapists. The present dissertation’s main goal is to better understand what is the perception that therapists have of the impact of SE in their clinical practice. A questionnaire was given to 75 therapists with SE training to evaluate the impact of the of the approach on their practice. The results allow for a more clear view into the effect that the approach has on therapists and consequently on their.
