Escala de motivação: Adaptação e validação da Motivation Scale (M.S.) de Rempel, Holmes e Zanna

| dc.description.abstract | O objectivo deste estudo é a adaptação e a validação para a população portuguesa da Motivation Scale, de Rempel, Holmes e Zanna (1985). Enquadra-se e define-se o conceito de motivação, considerando-se a motivação intrínseca, a motivação extrínseca e a motivação instrumental, que viso integrar a construção da escala, bem como o seu impacto nas relações conjugais. Os participantes foram 436 sujeitos, 218 casais, 152 casados, 66 em união de facto. Para a nossa amostra, a sensibilidade dos itens demonstrou ter características discriminativas. Quanto à validade, a análise factorial pelo método KMO foi de 0,95 para a sub escala de motivos pessoais e 0,95 para a escala de motivos do parceiro, permitindo o recurso a análises factoriais confirmatórias de componentes principais com rotação obliqua, que não confirmaram uma estrutura tripartida. No que respeita à fidelidade, recorreu-se ao Alpha de Cronbach que nos 2 factores e nos totais das escalas foram superiores aos encontrados pelos autores na sua estrutura tripartida. Obtivemos assim uma escala final constituída por duas sub escalas: sub-escala de motivação intrínseca e sub-escala de motivação extrínseca. ------ ABSTRACT ------ The aim of this study is to validate theMotivation Scale (Rempel, Holmes and Zanna; 1985) for the Portuguese population.A theoretical model of motivation and its dimensions, namely the intrinsic, extrinsic, and instrumental motivation, is presented, as well as its impact on the couple relationship.A sample of 436 participants, 218 couples (152 married, 66 living together) were included in the study. The results of the factor analysis by the KMO method, using oblimin rotation, produced a meaningful solution of two factors: (1) the intrinsic motivation subscale and (2) the extrinsic motivation subscale. This structure was different from the original version with three factors. The reliability of the factors was tested through the use of Cronbach Alpha which was 0.95 for the personal reasons subscale and 0.95 for the partner reasons subscale. The Cronbach alpha coefficient for the total scale was higher than the original scale in their tripartite factorial structure. | por |
