Abstract(s)
A versão
ABSTRACT: This work presents the result from the translation and adaptation process on a measure for assertiveness for the Portuguese language. This instrument fallows recent works that point to this construct being multidimensional. The translation of the instrument was evaluated by back-translation and thinking-aloud methods. The Portuguese version was applied to a sample of 1125 students from secondary schools and higher education institutions in Portugal. Results show that the instrument has good reliability and factorial validity, being composed of two scales, which are subdivided into four corresponding subscales. The Portuguese version of the Scale for Interpersonal Behaviour seems to have psychometric suitability. Future studies are important, namely to assess construct validity and test other kinds of samples.
