| dc.description.abstract | A apofenia é um termo cunhado por Klaus Conrad em 1959 para o fenómeno cognitivo de percecionar ou identificar padrões entre dados aleatórios. A Sincronicidade por sua vez é um termo cunhado por Carl Jung. Ele defendeu que as coincidências extraordinárias, quando revestidas de significado pelo sujeito que as experiência, podem inscrever-se numa categoria nova, que escapa ao domínio do meramente aleatório, para um domínio novo onde ele intuiu existir um principio de ligações acausais. Este seria o campo da sincronicidade, termo que ele cunhou para definir as situações em que o estado interno do sujeito e um acontecimento exterior coincidem de forma de tal forma inexplicável que isso implica supor a existência de uma conexão acausal entre ambos os eventos. Este estudo exploratório teve como intuito investigar algumas características geralmente atribuídas à apofenia e à sincronicidade entre sujeitos que afirmam ter vivido experiências de sincronicidade. Estas características dos sujeitos que viveram sincronicidades foram avaliadas mediante a aplicação de um curto inquérito, e da aplicação da prova projetiva do Rorschach. Uma das hipóteses mais fortes do estudo foi a de que os sujeitos com experiências de sincronicidade têm dificuldade em separa o mundo interno do externo por via de problemas identitários, o que iria favorecer a projeção no mundo exterior de conteúdos internos que iriam assim parecer estar ligados de forma acausal. Esta fragilidade patológica poderia estar ligada à tendência bem conhecida da apofenia em identificar padrões onde estes não existem. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Apophenia is a term coined by Klaus Conrad in 1959 to describe the cognitive phenomenon of percieving or identifying patterns amongst random data. Synchronicity on the other hand is a term coined by Carl Jung. He defended that extraordinary coincidences, when embeded with meaning by the subject that experiences them, can be placed on a new category, that escapes the domínion of the merely random, belonging instead on a new dominion where he suspected acasual connections would exist. This would be the field of synchronocity, a term that he coined to define the situations where the internal state of the subject and an exterior event match in such an unexplicable way that it forces one to admit the existence of an acausal relationship between both events. This exploratory study had as a goal, to investigate some characteristics often credited to apophenia and synchronicity amongst subjects that claimed to have lived synchronistic experiences. This traits of the subjects that had experienced synchronicities were evaluated through the application of a short inquiry, and also of the Rorschach porjective test. One of the strongest hypothesis of the study was that the subjects that experience synchronicities have a hard time separating internal an external worlds because of identity problems, wich could in turn favor the projection onto the outer world of internal contents that would thus appear to be connected accausally. This pathological frailty could be connected to the well known tendency of apophenia in identifying patterns where they don't exist. | pt_PT |
