O estilo de reminiscência nas interações mãe-criança e pai-criança

| dc.description.abstract | Resumo: Nas últimas décadas, a investigação na área da reminiscência adulto-criança tem-se debruçado, essencialmente, sobre a forma como as mães conversam sobre eventos passados com os seus filhos. Contudo, mais recentemente, os investigadores têm procurado compreender a importância do pai no desenvolvimento da comunicação infantil. O presente estudo explora as diferenças do estilo de reminiscência nas díades mãe-criança e pai-criança, em função do sexo desta. Participaram 79 crianças portuguesas (40 raparigas e 39 rapazes), com uma média de 56.93 meses de idade, e respectivas figuras parentais (mãe, n=75 e pai, n=57), 53 destas tinham dados com as díades mãe e pai. As díades participaram separadamente, numa tarefa de reminiscência sobre três eventos passados partilhados. Investigadores independentes transcreveram as conversas e cotaram o estilo de reminiscência dos pais, das mães e da criança. Os resultados evidenciam que tanto os pais, como as mães não diferem grandemente na forma como falam do passado com as crianças, no entanto as mães utilizam um discurso mais repetitivo do que os pais. As crianças apresentam uma tendência para falar mais com os pais, do que com as mães, independentemente do sexo. Estes dados reforçam a importância do papel do pai como agente de socialização, desde os primeiros anos, promotor da comunicação da criança com o mundo exterior. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: In the last decades, research in the area of adult-child reminiscence has addressed essentially the way mothers talk about past events with their children. However, more recently, researchers have sought to understand the importance of fathers in the development of child communication. This study explores the differences of reminiscing style of mother-child and father-child dyads, according to sex of the child. 79 Portuguese preschool children (40 girls and 39 boys), with an average of 56.93 months, and their parental figures participated (mother, n=75 and father, n=57). 53 of those had data for both mother and father dyads. The dyads participated separately in a reminiscing task about three past shared events. Independent researchers transcribed the conversations and quoted the reminiscing style of fathers, mothers and children. The results show that both parents are similar in how they talk about the past with their children, however the mothers use a speech more repetitive than fathers. Children have a tendency to talk more with fathers than with mothers, regardless of gender. These data reinforce the importance of the father’s role as a socializing agent, from early years, promoting the child’s communication with the outside world. | pt_PT |
