Abstract(s)
The protective effects of strategies adaptation reveal that well-being is possible to be achieved through both desirable states and undesirable states. Subjective well-being is an assessment that the individual makes about his life in a subjective way. In this assessment, there are implicit value judgments, feelings, moods, emotions and life satisfaction (Diener & Chan, 2011). Menopause is a life transition in a woman's life, considered a challenge and a change, where a transformation takes place regarding to the relation with herself and others, resulting in biological and relational changes (Singh, 2013). This study aimed to analyze the relationship between Motivational Orientations for Well-Being, Hedonic and Eudemonic and Subjective Well-Being and whether this relationship is mediated through adaptation strategies/resources. 227 women aged between 40 and 85 years have taken part in this study. These were in a transition phase from the reproductive period to the non-reproductive and menopause. The results of this study were obtained through the application of the Sociodemographic Questionnaire; HEMA-R scale; Q-SOC; Life Satisfaction Scale-SWLS and Scale of Positive and Negative Experience-SPANE. We believe that further studies based on the relationship between these constructs would be relevant, especially in other age groups and in other types of transition, aiming to explore what can contribute to the subjective well-being.
