Abstract(s)
242), correspondendo a 121 casais e a duas subescalas: casados (N= 199) e recasados
e Conflict Resolution Behaviour Questionnaire.
Nowadays, the number of divorces has been raising more and more, giving place to new forms of conjugality, like re-marriage, where marriage stops being the only model on a family life. This way, with the new changes in the family constitution, the theme of remarriage and family reconstitution of the remarried, wake the interest of the researchers in the human science, like Psychology. The present study has as primary objective the comparison between two models of conjugality, marriage and remarriage, analyzing in what measure the type of conjugality differs or not in the existing love and on the type of strategies used by the couple in resolving conflicts. It's also intended to analyze other sociodemographic variables, like age and educational attainment, as these factors can work as mediators. This study also intends to analyze the data with dyads and not individuals. For the realization of this study, a sample of 242 participants was used (N= 242), referring to 121 couples and two subscales: Married (N=199) and Remarried (N=43). Of the respective sample, 49,6% of the participants are male (120 men) and 50,4% are female (122 women). In our study we used the Sociodemographic Questionnaire; Triangular Scale of Love by Sternberg and Conflict Resolution Behaviour Questionnaire. The results reveal that there's not any significant difference on the type of love and the conflict resolution strategies between married and remarried; however the study reveals that men show higher values of passion in the type of love, and avoid the conflict in their resolution, comparing to women; the age is found to be related with the passion and with the commitment in relation to the type of love, and with the three dimensions related to the conflicts. Finally, level of education was related only with conflict resolution strategies. The present study contributes to a better understanding about the thematic that has been becoming more of a reality in our lives.
