Abstract(s)
O presente estudo analisa a relação entre a qualidade de vinculação e a reputação social em
crianças de idade escolar. O estudo envolveu 46 crianças, avaliadas num primeiro momento aos
5 anos e posteriormente aos 9 anos. Para classificar a qualidade da vinculação utilizou-se
Attachment Story Completion Task (ASCT) (Bretherton, Ridgeway & Cassidy, 1990; Maia,
Veríssimo, Ferreira, Silva & Fernandes, 2009). O Teste de Reputação Social (Noel &
Strayer,1989; Santos & Veríssimo, 1990) permitiu que as crianças avaliassem os seus colegas
de sala de aula no que diz respeito a determinadas competências sociais e académicas. Os dados
recolhidos revelam uma associação significativa entre as dimensões do português e da
matemática com a qualidade da vinculação, mostrando que as crianças com uma vinculação
mais segura têm uma reputação social mais positiva.
ABSTRACT: This study examines the relationship between quality of attachment and social reputation in school age children. The Participants were 46 children, first evaluated when they were five years and subsequently when they were 9 years. The Attachment Story Completion Task (ASCT) (Bretherton, Ridgeway & Cassidy, 1990; Maia, Veríssimo, Ferreira, Silva & Fernandes, 2009) was used to evaluate the quality of attachment. The Social Reputation test (Noel & Strayer, 1989; Santos & Veríssimo, 1990) evaluated the social and academic reputation.. Results revealed a positive association between quality of attachment and Portuguese and Mathematics social reputation, showing that children with a more secure attachment have a more positive social reputation.
