Este estudo multi-método é um estudo transversal que tem por objetivo conhecer
quais os conhecimentos e atitudes dos profissionais de saúde mental em relação ao recovery
e perceber se esses conhecimentos e atitudes são coerentes com os modelos teóricos
utilizados pelas organizações onde trabalham. Para alcançar o propósito do estudo foram
conduzidas duas análises separadas. Uma primeira análise qualitativa das respostas de
profissionais, selecionados aleatoriamente, para uma proposta de intervenção da organização
perante um pedido de suporte fornecido – a história de António -, a qual permitiu identificar
dois modelos de intervenção dominantes: 1) orientação para o recovery; 2) orientação para a
reabilitação psicossocial. A segunda análise, quantitativa, dividiu 72 profissionais dessas
organizações em dois grupos independentes onde se comparou e analisou as respostas
reportadas no Recovery Knowledge Inventory e no questionário de dados biográficos. Os
resultados revelaram que a formação dos profissionais sobre recovery se afigura necessária
para que se possam adotar mais e melhores práticas, programas e suporte que sejam
facilitadores deste processo e que o modelo de intervenção utilizado nas organizações, está
correlacionado com os conhecimentos e atitudes dos profissionais de saúde mental sobre o
processo de recovery.
ABSTRACT: This multi- method study is a comparative cross-sectional study that aims to understand what knowledge and attitudes of mental health professionals in relation to the recovery and see if that knowledge and attitudes are consistent with the theoretical models used by organizations where they work. To achieve the purpose of the study were conducted two separate analyses. The first, qualitative analysis of 10 professional answers randomly selected for an organization's intervention brought before a provided support request - the story of Antonio - which allowed us to identify two dominant models of intervention in presence: 1) guidance for recovery; 2) guidance for psychosocial rehabilitation. The second analysis divided 72 professional organizations in these two independent groups and compared the responses reported in Recovery Knowledge Inventory and biographical data questionnaire. The results revealed that the training of professionals about recovery appears necessary so that they can adopt more and better practices, programs and support to be facilitators of this process and that the intervention model used in organizations, is correlated with the knowledge and attitudes of professionals mental health of the recovery process.
