Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: Fraternal dynamic takes place in a relational arena which participates in the subjective identitary structuration, for being stage of reciprocal experiences of alterity and of intersubjective encounters that shape and are shaped by synchronic processes of identification and differenciation. The present study aims to give an account of psychic processes of identification and differenciation governing identitary structuration in two phraters of three – with both gender represented and ages between 14 and 22. The instrument was Free Association Narrative Interview. Its application resulted in the obtention of six narratives that were submited to separate and joint analysis guided by the outstanding elaborations from the discourse of individuals. Results show that participants appeal to phratry as a space of expression of identitary arrangements in which references to ascendance and filiative inscriptions are structurating. Both the phratries situate the father in a central place while the mother‟s presence tends to be silenced. In the first case, the father places an important position of an aggregator aixs in the family, function that is performed by the middle child in the phratry. The maternal position tends to be placed by the older girl. In the second case, all the children transmit a strong paternal inscription, however more saturated in the older ones. The literature on fraternal relationships is narrow and produced from clinical case studies. The present study contributes with developments about the theme in a non-clinical context.
