ABSTRACT: Understanding these long-term processes requires understanding the processes of relapse, identifying the factors that involve the end of psychotherapy. By understanding these factors, it will become clearer which strategies to adopt to reduce the risk of recurrence, since relapse rates after psychological intervention are still very high. Therefore, the aim of this study comes across the identification of factors associated with well-being and relapse, considering characteristics of the patient and characteristics of the intervention. This is a cross-sectional study that had the participation of 200 adults, who completed a psychotherapeutic process, through self-report questionnaires. In the present study, it was found that age, therapeutic alliance and personality traits are associated with well-being. As well as, it was found that marital status, education, professional status, diagnosed with a mental disorder, type of termination, goals at termination, symptoms at termination, current medication, therapeutic alliance, duration of therapy and the personality traits agreeableness and openness to experience are associated with relapse. This study has a limitation regards the sample size. This investigation allows to deepen the knowledge about the post-therapy and, thus, the ability to adapt to the therapies increases concomitantly.
