Abstract(s)
Atualmente existe um grande número de pessoas
contaminadas com o vírus da SIDA, manifestando sintomas
entre os 20 e 30 anos. Como o vírus pode ficar
inativo no organismo por anos, existe a possibilidade
da contaminação ter ocorrido na fase da adolescência.
Com o objetivo de obter maior conhecimento sobre a
relação entre adolescência e SIDA, foram realizadas
entrevistas com uma amostra de 127 adolescentes na
faixa etária dos 13 aos 20 anos. Foi utilizado um questionário
contendo 22 perguntas. Resultados obtidos revelaram
que 67% dos entrevistados apresentaram um
nível bom de informação em relação ao conhecimento
da SIDA. Em relação ao conhecimento sobre as formas
de contaminação o sexo masculino apresentou um
bom nível e o o sexo feminino apresentou um nível regular.
Quanto às formas de prevenção, 51% dos entrevistados
denotaram um nível regular. Sobre a procedência
das informações, constatou-se que o maior
percentual encontrou-se nos meios de comunicação,
seguido da escola. Verificou-se que entre os adolescentes,
100% do sexo feminino relacionavam afetividade
e sexo, enquanto que entre o sexo masculino,
67% não faziam essa relação. A maioria afirmou que
houveram mudanças no comportamento relativas à
prevenção. De um modo geral pode-se concluir que os
adolescentes apresentaram um nível de conhecimento
adequado e suficiente sobre a doença, apesar da existência
de algumas concepções equivocadas e preconceituosas.
There is a great number of people contaminated by the AIDS virus with the symptoms manifesting between 20 and 30 years of age. The virus keeps dormant in the body for years, with the possibility of the contamination been done during the adolescence period. With the objective of obtaining more knowledge between adolescence and AIDS, interviews were conducted with 127 teenagers between the age of 13 and 20. A questionnaire of 22 questions was used. The results reviewed that 67% presented a good knowledge of AIDS. In regards to the ways of contamination the masculine sex presented a good level of knowledge in relation to the feminine that was medium. 51% of the group presented an average level of information on how to prevent AIDS, revealing that the information came via the media, followed by the school. It was noted that 100% of the feminine sex related affection with sex and 67% of the masculine sex did not make this connection. The majority said that there were behaviour changes in relation to prevention. In general, it can be concluded that teenagers have an adequate and sufficient level of knowledge about the illness although demonstrating a certain degree of wrong and prejudiced concepts.
