Abstract(s)
Este artigo trata do abuso infantil. Depois de rever
criticamente a literatura existente é incluída a dimensão
tempo procurando-se invariâncias.
Os estudos anteriores debruçam-se sobre tipos de
maus tratos. Os seus resultados, as análises que produziram
sobre o fenómeno aumentaram a distância que
nos separa da compreensão do fenómeno. Em oposição
às teorias e paradigmas de estudo, é defendida a tese
de que o conhecimento acerca do fenómeno pode beneficiar
de uma concepção de que cada caso, cada abuso
infantil contém as mesmas propriedades do fenómeno
a larga escala (apesar do seu carácter imperfeito),
mesmo quando os peritos e os leigos não notam
todos os tipos de maus-tratos. Cabe-lhes a eles ultrapassar
o discurso e a interacção com a vítima, na realidade
a mais vulnerável do planeta.
ABSTRACT: This paper deals with child abuse. After reviewing the available literature, we critically address the time dimension, and search for invariances. Previous studies consider specific types of child maltreatment. The empirical studies, the detailed analyses they have produced may have increased the distance to fully achieve comprehension of the whole phenomenon. In sharped contrast with previous theories and study paradigms we suggest that knowledge about the phenomenon might benefit from conceiving each instance, each child abuse case as containning the very same properties of the phenomenon (despite their imperfect character) at a larger scale, even if both experts and laypeople do not notice them. It is up to them to look beyond discourse and interaction with the victim, indeed the most vulnerable one on this planet.
