A Maternidade nos nossos dias é, para a mulher,
uma de entre várias opções para a sua realização pessoal.
Nem sempre foi assim. Neste artigo, a autora
apresenta-nos uma breve evolução histórica e antropológica
do conceito de Maternidade. Refere ainda as
eventuais repercussões psicológicas inerentes ao modo
como actualmente ela é vivenciada.
Nowadays, maternity is but one of many options open to women in search of personal fulfilment. It wasn’t allways so. In the article the author presents a brief review of the historical and anthropological evolution of the maternity concept. The possible psychological consequences of the different ways for women to live maternity nowadays are also approached.
