A presente investigação centra-se no estudo da relação entre o envolvimento e o
investimento dos pais na relação com os filhos. Isto porque os adultos desempenham, na
vida, vários papéis, sendo a paternidade, talvez, o papel mais desafiante e gratificante. Por
outro lado, sabe-se que a forma como o pai compreende e organiza os seus papéis afeta a
natureza das suas interações, pois, segundo a literatura posteriormente explicitada, as
perceções mais positivas associam-se a maiores níveis de envolvimento parental. Como tal,
o objetivo do presente estudo é perceber se os pais que mais investem na relação com os
seus filhos e menos no seu papel profissional, têm um maior/melhor envolvimento com as
suas crianças. Para este estudo, serão acedidas não só as perceções dos próprios pais, mas
também as perceções das suas companheiras e mães dos seus filhos para que, desta forma,
se possa também comparar o grau de concordância entre mãe e pai, quanto à ideia que têm
do seu envolvimento e investimento na relação parental.
ABSTRACT: The present research focuses on the study of the relationship between the involvement and investment of parents in relation to their children. This is because the adults play, in life, multiple roles, and the fatherhood, perhaps, is the most challenging and rewarding. On the other hand, it is known that the way to the father understands and organizes their roles affect the nature of their interactions, because, according to the literature later explained, the perceptions more positive are associated with higher levels of parental involvement. As such, the objective of this study is to understand whether the parents that invest the most in the relationship with their children and less in their professional role, has a higher/better involvement with their children. For this study, will be accessed not only the perceptions of the parents themselves, but also the perceptions of their partners and mothers of their children so that, in this way, we can also compare the degree of concordance between mother and father, and to the idea we have of their involvement and investment in parental relationship.
