Abstract(s)
reavaliação cognitiva e supressão emocional, e a performance adaptativa.
O estudo apresenta
Today's competition, globalization, and technological changes impose the need for flexible responses, and work teams face daily challenges and must therefore be able to adapt to their actions and interactions in order to perform effectively. In this volatile and dynamic environment, the process by which individuals change their emotions, their response to those emotions, or the situations that foster emotions, in order to respond appropriately to the demands of the environment becomes indispensable. This process is called emotion regulation. The present study aims to understand the relationship between different emotion regulation strategies, namely cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression, and adaptive performance. The sample comprising the study involved the participation of a total of 352 health care and rescue professionals. They were assessed through responses to a questionnaire that includes the Adaptive Performance Scale and the Emotional Regulation Questionnaire. The results obtained show that the two emotion regulation strategies are positively related to adaptive performance, but the hypotheses were not corroborated. The study has limitations, which lead to proposals for future studies, and also has theoretical and practical implications.
