Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: Weness (W) evaluates the feeling of "us", association of the subject to couple as an interdependent unit rather than as two separate subjects (Pacheco, 2014). When promoted within couples positively it can also improve the action, the welfare of a couple and consequently reduce the divorce rate (Carrèr, et al., 2000; Pacheco, 2014; Seider, et al., 2009). The main objective of this work it’s the validation of the questionnaire Weness – QW (Pacheco, 2014) for Portuguese language in a sample of the general population and oncologic (breast cancer). The second objective is to check the convergent / discriminant validity Weness with Dyadic Coping and Marital Satisfaction, to confirm that they are distinct concepts. N = 250 couples participated [n = 70 couples cancer (CO) n = 180 couples General (CG)]. Participated N=250 couples [n=70 with breast cancer (CBC) and n=180 general (CG)]. The average age was 39.7 for women and 40.8 for men. The value of α Cronbach of the questionnaire was 0.85 CG and 0.82 CO. The model proposed by the author and obtained by AFE (10 factors) have a bad adjustment. However, the use of the reduced questionnaire developed through the long version of the questionnaire shows an adjustment of acceptable model, with values of X²/gl = 2.68; CFI = 0.84; GFI = 0.83 and 0.11 for RMSEA = CO; and X²/gl = 3.48; CFI = 0.91; GFI and RMSEA = 0.91 = 0.09 CG. The analysis of the converging / discriminant validity revealed that the concepts are separate, W / DC together and W / DC positive other (r = 0.29; p = 0.00) W / DC positive itself (r = 0. 24, p = 0.00) and W / SC (r = 0.20; p = 0.00). It was not confirmed the psychometric properties of Questionnaire Weness, requiring the continued exploitation of the questionnaire, with special emphasis to the reduced format (shorter and affordable). It is important duty will be in future studies to control variables such as length of relationship that influences Weness values.
