| dc.description.abstract | A presente tese aborda a violência doméstica sobre os homens. O objetivo desta é analisar o fenómeno da violência doméstica perpetrada contra homens. Primeiramente, vai-se efetuar uma revisão da literatura com estudos acerca do tema violência doméstica sobre os homens. Ao realizar a revisão de literatura encontrou-se dois tipos predominantes de violência: violência física e violência psicológica. O tipo de estudo efetuado nesta tese é um estudo de caso. O método presente nesta tese é a entrevista semiestruturada, com cinco homens vítimas de violência doméstica, entre os 31 e os 62 anos, em que a violência sobre estes foi exercida pela parceira. O instrumento que foi utilizado para guiar as entrevistas foi um guião semiestruturado com 11 itens. As entrevistas, realizadas através da plataforma Zoom (devido à pandemia COVID-19), foram analisadas qualitativamente a fim de descobrir qual o tipo de violência predominante em homens vítimas de violência doméstica. Os resultados deste estudo são que esta população de vítimas sofreu violência física e violência psicológica. As principais limitações deste estudo são o acesso a esta população ser bastante difícil, a dificuldade que estes homens ainda têm em relatar a violência sofrida, o que levou a que possivelmente não transmitissem todas as informações necessárias para o estudo e a literatura relacionada com este tema ser bastante escassa. As conclusões deste estudo são que é necessário existirem mais estudos sobre este tema tão parco na literatura e que é fundamental haver uma maior sensibilização para a violência sobre os homens. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This thesis addresses domestic violence on men. The aim of this study is to investigate the most frequent type of domestic violence that occurs in these victims. First, we will review the literature with studies on the theme of this thesis. When conducting the literature review, two predominant types of violence were found: physical and psychological violence. The type of study carried out in this thesis is a case study. The method present in this thesis is the semi-structured interview, with five men victims of domestic violence, between 31 and 62 years old, in which the violence on them was exercised by the partner. The instrument that was used to guide the interviews was a semi-structured script with 11 items. The interviews, conducted through the Zoom platform (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), were analyzed qualitatively in order to find out what type of violence is predominant in men. The results of this study are that this population of victims suffered physical and psychological violence. The main limitations of this study are the access to this population being quite difficult, the difficulty that these men still have in reporting the violence suffered, which led them to possibly not transmit all the information necessary for the study and the literature related to this topic being quite scarce. The conclusions of this study are that there needs to be more studies on this subject so meager in the literature and that it is essential to have a greater awareness of violence against men. | pt_PT |
