Abstract(s)
Objetivos: Este estudo possui como objetivo analisar as vantagens e desvantagens de um treino
em prática deliberada, e de que forma é que pode influenciar a prática clínica. Método: Foi
realizado um estudo qualitativo com psicoterapeutas (N=5), os quais foram entrevistados numa
entrevista de duas partes distintas. A primeira parte possuía cinco questões gerais relativamente
à sua experiência no treino, a segunda parte consistia na visualização dos estímulos e respetivas
respostas, através da plataforma Skillsetter, de modo que relatassem a sua experiência ao nível
dos benefícios e desafios. Resultados: A análise dos dados permitiu criar três categorias
distintas, Vantagens/Benefícios, Desvantagens/Desafios e Alteração na Metodologia, onde se
verificou um maior número de vantagens e se conseguiu averiguar algumas sugestões de
mudança à metodologia que envolve a prática deliberada. Conclusão: Os resultados que este
estudo apresenta são um bom indicador dos vários benefícios que a prática deliberada pode
fornecer aos psicoterapeutas em diversos níveis da sua profissão, existindo um balanço mais
positivo entre vantagens e desvantagens, em que, se forem propostas algumas melhorias para
este tipo de treino, poderão se verificar ainda mais benefícios para a melhoria da prática clínica
em psicoterapia.
Deliberate practice is a type of training than many professionals engage with the purpose of developing their skillset regarding expertise. Being an underrated training and understudied, the importance of analysing in which ways it can be beneficial to practicioners, particularly psychotherapists. Objectives: This goal of this study is to analyse the advantages and disadvantages of a deliberate practice training and in what way can it influence clinical practice. Method: A qualitative test was designed, where psychotherapists (N=5) were interviewed in a two part interview. The first part had five general questions regarding their experience in training, the second part consisted in watching the stimulus and answers given by the participants, using the Skilsetter platform. Results: Data analysis allowed to create three main categories, Benefits/Advantages, Challenges/Disadvantages and Changes in Methodology, where there were many benefits compared to challenges and was possible to create suggestions regarding the way deliberate pratice was made. Conclusion: The results that this study presents are a good indicator of the multiple benefits deliberate practice can supply to psychotherapists at different stages of their professional career, where a positive balance can be established between advantages and disadvantages, and it’s possible to propose some changes to the way deliberate practice is used so it can benefit even more practice in psychotherapy
