Um amigo só meu - Bases e consequências da criação de um amigo imaginário na infância"

Mesmo sendo alvo de grande interesse já há algum tempo, o estudo dos amigos imaginários, poucas conclusões tem permitido. É consensual, no entanto, que o amigo imaginário surge aquando de um forte investimento, comummente, por parte de crianças entre os 3 e os 6 anos, num objeto/pessoa/animal cuja importância nas suas vidas pouco foi explorada. Desta forma, o presente estudo tem como objetivo explorar a relação da criança com o amigo imaginário e o seu respetivo impacto no futuro, através de recordações de cinco mulheres, entre os 18 e os 26 anos, recolhidas por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Os resultados obtidos permitiram compreender a influência do contexto em que a criança se insere ao criar um amigo imaginário e de que modo o desenvolvimento está relacionado com esta relação. Concluindo, foi possível compreender que os sentimentos de solidão na criança são comuns à origem desta forte ligação ao amigo imaginário, moldando-o conforme as suas necessidades, mas também acabando por ser moldada por este, tanto como seria no caso de um amigo real.
ABSTRACT: Even as a target of major interest for some time now, imaginary friends’ study had few conclusions. It is consensual, however, that the imaginary friend is the result of a strong investment, commonly, from children between 3 and 7 years old, in an object/person/animal whose importance in their lives has been little explored. Thereby, this study aims to explore the child’s relationship with the imaginary friend and his impact in their future, through memories of five women between 18 and 26 years, collected by semi-structured interviews. Results allowed us to understand the influence of context in which the child is inserted when creating an imaginary friend and how the development is related to this relationship. Concluding, it was possible to understand that feelings of loneliness from the child are common to the origin of this strong bond to the imaginary friend, shaping him through their needs, but also being shaped by him, as much as it happens with a real friend.
