Abstract(s)
No
políticas Sopol (Soczka, 1983a); o socialismo e o
individualismo liberalista.
ABSTRACT: The aim of this research was to test Ajzen and Fishbein’s (1980) theory of reasoned action in the context of the Portuguese elections to the European Parliament. The results did not support the theory. Unexpectadly, they provide partia1 support for the theory of planned behavior. Furhtermore, they point out to the central role of other variables such as party loyalty to its ideological core values, and two socio-political attitude clusters as measured by the Sopol (Soczka, 1983a): socialism and individual liberalism. The more subjects believe in one of these two attitudinal ciusters the less they intend to vote.
