Abstract(s)
a aspectos da doença considerados difíceis de suportar;
In the context of a larger study directed to the psychological impact of Nephrotic Syndrome and Celiac Disease, a semi-structured interview for children was developed. We present the results related with specific questions which assessed the perception of the child concerning disease control and coping with disease. The participants (N=81), aged between 6 to 10 years old, belong to three groups with the same number of individuals: G1 – Nephrotic Syndrome, G2 – Celiac Disease, G3 – Without Disease. The two disease groups differ in some of the disease related coping behaviors. The two disease groups differ also in specific contents related to aspects of the diseases difficult to manage; they did not differ in an important way in what concerns adherence to medical prescriptions, although this adherence seems more easy to Celiac Disease group.
