Abstract(s)
Encontrando-nos a atravessar uma crise mundial a vários níveis, urge repensar a utilização
ecológica dos recurso humanos e estudar a transformação do comportamento humano
referente às motivações que levam os indivíduos a realizar trabalho voluntário em atividades
fundamentais para a humanidade em geral.
Estudos indicam a existência de cada vez menos pessoas a voluntariar-se e uma necessidade
maior deste apoio à comunidade, pretende-se assim conhecer as motivações dos
voluntários e estudar os modelos conceituais da motivação para a realização de trabalho
voluntário. A amostra é constituída por 290 voluntários, de ambos os géneros, com idades
compreendidas entre <18 e > 71, cuja situação civil foi agrupada em solteiro(a),
casado(a)/união de facto, divorciado(a)/separado(a) e viúvo(a), com habilitações literárias
desde o 1º Ciclo até ao Ensino Superior e cuja situação profissional é descrita como desempregado(
a), estudante, empregado(a) e reformado(a). Para foi utilizado o questionário
Volunteer Functions Inventory, que representa a mais consiste escala para a determinação das
motivações do voluntariado, classificando-as em seis funções psicológicas: função de valores,
de compressão, social, de carreira e de aperfeiçoamento.
As principais motivações expressas nos resultados relacionam-se com as funções de
Valores, os voluntários motivados por esta função envolvem-se nas atividades devido ao
desejo intrínseco de ajudar outros menos afortunados e de Compreensão que detém o desejo
de aprender novas habilidades e utilizar conhecimentos que de outra forma não teria como
utilizar. Os resultados deste estudo são concordantes com a pesquisa bibliográfica realizada,
sendo estes fundamentais para a conquista, manutenção e retenção de voluntários.
Finding ourselves going through a worldwide crisis at various levels, it is urgent to rethink the ecological utilization of human resources and study the transformation of human behavior that refers to the motivations that lead individuals to perform voluntary work in activities fundamental to humanity in general. Studies indicate that there are fewer and fewer people volunteering and a greater need of this support to the community, it is intended to know the motivations of the volunteers and to study the conceptual models of motivation for volunteer work. The sample consisted of 290 volunteers of both sexes, aged between 18 and 71, whose civil status was grouped as single, married / union of fact, divorced / separated and widowed, with literary qualifications from the primary school to the higher education and whose professional situation is described as unemployed, student, employee and retired. In order to analyze the results, we used the Volunteer Functions Inventory questionnaire, which represents the most consistent scale to determining the motivations of the volunteer, classifying them into six psychological functions: value, compression, social, career and improvement functions. The main motivations expressed in the results relate to the functions of values, volunteers motivated by this function engage in activities due to the intrinsic desire to help others less fortunate and the understanding function that holds the desire to learn new skills and use knowledge that otherwise would not have to use. The results of this study are in agreement with the bibliographical researches, being these fundamental for the conquest, maintenance and retention of volunteers.
