| dc.description.abstract | O presente estudo tem como objetivo caracterizar as relações sociais de adolescentes socialmente retraídos, quer com o seu grupo de pares, quer com os seus melhores amigos. Os dados foram recolhidos com base em 3 instrumentos: o Extended Class Play – que permite aceder às avaliações que os pares fazem do comportamento, funcionamento e reputação sociais dos colegas –, as Nomeações de Amizade – que permite identificar quem são os melhores amigos – e o Questionário da Qualidade da Amizade – destinado a aceder às perceções que os sujeitos têm de vários aspetos qualitativos da sua melhor amizade. No que diz respeito às relações sociais, os resultados permitiram verificar que os adolescentes socialmente retraídos foram descritos pelos pares como sendo significativamente mais isolados, excluídos e vitimizados, mas também mais pró-sociais do que os seus colegas. Por outro lado, não diferiam destes no número de amigos mútuos, nem na qualidade de amizade relatada, ainda que tendessem a ter amigos significativamente mais isolados e excluídos, tal como menos agressivos, do que os adolescentes do grupo de controlo. Os resultados estão de acordo com a literatura, refletindo as dificuldades sociais que os jovens socialmente retraídos enfrentam, assim como chamam a atenção para o possível efeito protetor que a participação em comum com os melhores amigos pode ter. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The present research aims to characterize the social relations of withdraw adolescents with their peer group and best friends. Data were collected based on three instruments: the Extended Class Play – which allows to capture the evaluations that peers make of the behavior, social functioning and social reputation of their colleagues –, the Friendship Nominations and the Friendship Quality Questionnaire – meant to access the perceptions that individuals have of various qualitative aspects of their best friendships. With regard to social relations, the results showed that socially withdrawn adolescents were described by their peers as being significantly more isolated, excluded and victimized, but also more prosocial than their colleagues. On the other hand, they did not differ in the number of mutual friends nor in the reported relationship’s quality, although they tended to have friends significantly more withdrawn and excluded, as well as less aggressive than the control group’s adolescents. The results are in agreement with the literature, reflecting on the social difficulties that withdrawn young people face, as well as the possible protective effect of a best friendship’s communion. | pt_PT |
