- Trabalho em equipa em Portugal: Uma década de progressoPublication . Santos, Catarina Marques; Passos, Ana Margarida; Graça, Ana Margarida; Curral, Luis; Costa, Patrícia; Abrantes, António; Quinteiro, Pedro MarquesNa última década em Portugal assistimos à explosão do número de estudos acerca dos fatores psicológicos e contextuais que antecedem a eficácia das equipas em ambientes de trabalho complexos e extremos. Esta investigação tem-se centrado em torno dos aspetos comportamentais (e.g. coordenação, liderança), cognitivos (e.g. modelos mentais partilhados, sistemas de memória transitiva) e afetivos (e.g. coesão, team work engagement) que nos ajudam a explicar por que razão algumas equipas têm um desempenho melhor, estão mais satisfeitas com o seu trabalho e acreditam que são mais viáveis (mesmo as que trabalham em condições adversas). Ao longo deste artigo, fazemos não só uma revisão da investigação feita sobre o tema do trabalho em equipa nos últimos dez anos em Portugal, como estabelecemos pontes com outros trabalhos internacionais e apresentamos algumas sugestões para o futuro da investigação desta área na próxima década.
- Self-efficacy, mental models and team adaptation: A first approach on football and futsal refereeingPublication . Pina, João Aragão E; Passos, A. M.; Maynard, M. Travis; Sinval, JorgeObjective Within the football and futsal refereeing context, even though referees work within teams, there is very little research considering the implications of team dynamics. In response, this study starts to address this gap in the literature by investigating the moderating effect of mental models on the relationship between self-efficacy beliefs and perceptions of team adaptation within the exciting context of professional and national football and futsal refereeing. Design We obtained online questionnaires from 339 active football and futsal referees within the National and Professional league at two distinct points (April and May) within the football season. Results Self-efficacy beliefs were positively associated with perceptions of team adaptation (only for football referees). Mental models were positively associated with team adaptation. Likewise, the moderation between mental models and self-efficacy beliefs was positively associated with perceptions of team adaptation. However, such an effect was only significant at the futsal referees’ level. Conclusion This study emphasises the importance of mental models for team adaptation and the importance of self-efficacy beliefs in predicting perceptions of team adaptation. We hope that this study represents the first step in a greater appreciation of the salience of team dynamics and their impact on football and futsal referees’ performance and that future research can build upon our work.

Travis; Passos, A. M.The concept of shared mental models refers to the shared understanding among team members about how they should behave in different situations. This article aimed to develop a new shared mental model measure, specifically designed for the refereeing context. A cross-sectional study was conducted with three samples: national and regional football referees (n = 133), national football referees and assistant referees and national futsal referees (n = 277), and national futsal referees (n = 60). The proposed version of the Referee Shared Mental Models Measure (RSMMM) has 13 items that are reflected on a single factor structure. The RSMMM presented good validity evidence both based on the internal structure and based on relations to other variables (presenting positive associations with team work engagement, team adaptive performance, and team effectiveness). Such promising psychometric properties point to an optimistic outlook regarding its use to measure shared mental models in futsal and football referee teams.
