Abstract(s)
As perturbações alimentares
Eating disorders are one of the biggest problems affecting today’s society. Inspite of the recognition of its danger and importance, this has only happened in the last two decades. The causes for eating disorders are attributed to a number of multiple factors and variables, some of those that are inherent to any competitive athlete. This study tried to contribute to a better understanding of this fenomena in the sport enviroment. This study also tried to confirm the existance of a significant higher presence of riskful eating behaviors and attitudes in sports that are hypothetically at a higher risk of developing eating disorders (e.g. gymnastics, athletics, judo and swimming) than in sports that are at a lower risk of developing eating disorders (field hockey and handball).
