A publicação destas justifica-se, entre outros motivos, por serem as primeiras, até agora, aparecidas em Portugal. A biografia, as características psicológicas do correspondente de Freud são reconstruídas, o que permite situar as quatro cartas no seu contexto. ------ABSTRACT ------Four so far unpublished letters by Freud, written to a Portuguese - Abel de Castro - between I924 and 1929, are presented. The bringing uut of these letters seems justifieil because they are the first by Freud to have appeared in Portugal. The biography, the psychological traits of Freud's correspondent are reconstructed, permitting to consider the four letters in an adequate perspective.
