Salientam- -se os estudos que relacionam estas doenças com a depressão psicológica e com as variáveis psicológicas associadas a esta patologia. Conclui-se pela pertinência da explicação psicodinâmica da depressão psicológica, bem como acerca da sua importância na programação da intervenção psicoterapêutica com doentes oncológicos.ABSTRACT: This article deals with some of the most important research papers about the «Psychological Functioning Cancer Disease)) relation. Psychological depression is discussed as a major psychological variable in the etiological discussion of cancer. Other psychological variables are related to the understanding of the paper that depression plays in cancer incidence and development. Conclusions are taken about the irnportance of psychodinamic understanding of psychological depression, as well as about the importance of this understanding when planning psychotherapy for cancer patients.porjournal article
