Embryonic development lasts from 15 days at 15°C to 17 days at 18°C. Larval development takes 37–44 days. Larvae begin to settle on the bottom at 1·3–1·4 cm total length. After five and a half months juveniles are about 5·5 cm total length.engjournal article
