Abstract(s)
A prevenção da violência nas relações de intimidade juvenil foi, durante muito tempo, negligenciada
no âmbito da intervenção e investigação sobre este tema. Todavia e não obstante o adiamento na
proliferação destes esforços, o quadro científico internacional apresenta-nos hoje programas de
prevenção exemplares, dirigidos à população juvenil, numa óptica de prevenção primária do problema,
e com resultados muito promissores. Com este artigo, pretendemos precisamente analisar o estado da
arte em termos das práticas internacionais e nacionais, em matéria de prevenção da violência nas
relações de intimidade juvenil. Pretendemos ainda, e tendo por base aquele que é o conhecimento
científico nesta área, esboçar algumas recomendações gerais neste âmbito e mais especificamente, as
componentes a privilegiar na elaboração dos programas de prevenção. Por último, procuraremos ainda
debater sobre os desafios futuros em matéria de prevenção.
The prevention of violence in intimate relationships has for long been neglected under the intervention and research on this topic. Despite the delay in the proliferation of these efforts, the international scientific world recently presented several model prevention programs directed to the youth population as a primary prevention scheme, establishing promising results. With this article, we intend to analyze the state of the art in terms of international and national practices in the prevention of violence in intimate relationships. We also intend to, based on scientific knowledge in this area, make some general recommendations and, more specifically, recommendations on the components to focus on the development of prevention programs. Suggestions for future challenges in the field of prevention of violence in intimate relationships will also be discussed.
