Celebrating more than 26,000 adult attachment interviews: Mapping the main adult attachment classifications on personal, social, and clinical status

Since the development of the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI) in 1985, more than 26,000 AAIs have been administered, coded, and reported, representing 170 (wo-)man-years of work. We used multinomial tests and analyses of correspondence to compare the AAI distributions in various cultural and age groups, in mothers, fathers, high-risk, and clinical samples with the combined samples of North American non-clinical, non-risk mothers (22% dismissing, 53% secure, 8% preoccupied, and 17% unresolved loss or other trauma). Males were more often classified as dismissing and less frequently classified as secure compared to females (except adoptive fathers), and females were more frequently classified as unresolved (but not more often preoccupied) compared to males. A combination of high scores on the unresolved and insecure-preoccupied dimensions was shared by borderline personality disorder, autism spectrum disorders, and gender dysphoria, while combined high scores on the unresolved and insecure-dismissing dimensions characterized anxiety problems, obsessive-compulsive and thought disorders.
Experiências de estudantes portugueses e espanhóis de ciências sociais sobre literacia informacional e utilização de tecnologias móveis no ensino superior: análise qualitativa após a COVID-19

Objetivo: Analisar comparativamente as experiências e percepções de estudantes portugueses e espanhóis de Ciências Sociais quanto ao uso e inclusão de tecnologias móveis nos processos de ensino-aprendizagem e refletir sobre o papel das bibliotecas de ensino superior e seus profissionais nesse contexto. Método: Metodologia exploratória de grupos focais socioconstrutivos, com base em uma amostra de dezoito estudantes finalistas dos cursos de Psicologia e Pedagogia. Resultados: Os estudantes vivenciam lacunas significativas em suas habilidades no uso de tecnologias móveis. Eles percebem limitações atitudinais e tecnológicas em seus professores. Há também algumas diferenças nas atitudes em relação à inclusão de tecnologias móveis nos processos de ensino-aprendizagem. Os estudantes espanhóis demonstraram melhores habilidades, enquanto os estudantes portugueses demonstraram maior nível de autopercepção. Discussão/Conclusões: Como consequência da pandemia, destaca-se a necessidade de aproximação aluno-professor e as limitações técnicas de alguns professores, tornando necessária uma mentalidade aberta a novos dispositivos e ferramentas tecnológicas nos processos de ensino. As instituições acadêmicas, e os bibliotecários em particular, devem se esforçar para entender o alcance e as possibilidades das tecnologias móveis para aumentar a motivação dos estudantes e adquirir competência informacional. Esta reflexão é prioritária para otimizar os processos de ensino e aprendizagem.
O porquê da importância do desenvolvimento de competências de literacia da informação no ensino superior? Exemplos com IA

O ensino superior representa um ambiente complexo, exigente e exigente. Os estudantes desejam ampliar o seu conhecimento e compreensão da informação, necessitando navegar e utilizar as fontes de informação de forma ética e legal. Em 2023, a tecnologia de IA generativa registou taxas de adoção sem precedentes, tornando a tecnologia solicitada mais rapidamente na história. Assistimos a uma exploração contínua das ferramentas de IA geradoras de impacto potencial e, regularizando o seu potencial, dividindo-nos entre excitação e escrutínio cauteloso. Vamos avaliar o impacto e as experiências que já existem na implementação destas tecnologias. Questões como enganos, falácias e desinformação podem prejudicar o ensino e formação. Portanto, é vital que a utilização da IA ​​seja feita com cautela e que se desenvolvam proteções contra o uso indevido. Existe uma possível resposta ou ajuda proveniente da alfabetização da informação?
Voices from the rainbow: Exploring participants’ experiences in an online LGBTIQ+-Affirmative Psychoeducation Program

Background/Objectives: This article highlights the importance of addressing the mental health of LGBTQ people, specifically through psychoeducation/intervention programs. The primary objective was to understand the effects of participating in an online affirmative program. The theoretical frameworks of the minority stress model and the concept of decompensation were used to understand and address disparities with the general population. Methods: A detailed protocol was designed to understand the participants’ experiences. An analysis of the results was carried out using a content analysis of the data collected from a convenience sample of participants from two groups. Results: The findings show that the participants’ experiences were satisfactory, especially with developing coping skills and changing their attitudes towards homophobia, also showing improvements in mental health indicators. Conclusions: This study concludes that online LGBTQ-affirmative psychoeducation programs can be positive in enhancing the mental health and well-being of the LGBTQ population. The research highlights the importance of extending these programs to LGBTQ family members. It is also important to acknowledge the specificities of each subgroup.
Psychometric Properties of the Portuguese Version of The PERMA-Profiler

This study evaluates the psychometric properties of a Portuguese version of The PERMA Profiler in a sample of 1258 Portuguese adults (72.3% females) with a mean age of 36.74 years (SD = 11.313). The PERMA Profiler is a questionnaire that assesses the five dimensions of psychological flourishing, according to Seligman’s well-being theory. According to this theory, the well-being pillars known by the acronym PERMA are positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to test Seligman’s model. Results support a reasonable model fit for the five-factor model, but based on the results of bootstrap sample analysis the model was not confirmed. There is also a lack of discriminant validity between PERMA constructs and a lack of validity and reliability of engagement factor. Internal consistency was satisfactory for all five sub-scales, except for engagement. Concurrent validity was demonstrated through the strong and very strong correlations between the PERMA factors and Flourishing Scale. A Portuguese version of The PERMA Profiler is a new tool to assist researchers to refine the measurement and understanding of well-being in Portuguese cultures. Future recommendations and limitations are highlighted.
